Presentation by Chuck Shackelford I will be talking about the concepts in the national best seller book Die Broke by Stephen Pollan. I’ll quickly review the reasoning behind: (1) quitting today, meaning the liberation from thinking you are going to hold down your current job or career for life, rather than thinking of yourself as a free agent who is not “married to your occupation,” and your present enterprise is just a means to a financial goal; (2) paying with cash rather than credit; (3) giving up on the notion of retiring at age 65 and instead thinking of income-producing work as a lifelong part of living, and; (4) dying broke, the notion that it’s okay not to pass on a large inheritance. |
