Presentation by Al BaldwinToday Al Baldwin began his presentation by discussing his qualifications in the networking industry and specifically his certifications with Microsoft. He is in the process of furthering his certifications for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. He informed his peers of his partnership with the many different industry leaders such as Dell, Seagate, and Western Digital. He deals primarily with business customers and prefers such, but also has a handful of individual clients (home users). This all was a segue into a discussion about computer networks, in general. He explained the differences between peer to peer and server/client based servers, but truly emphasized the need for any business to have a single computer allocated as the location of where all files should be stored. This allows for easier backup and restoration as well as organization. In the end he fielded questions related to the "cloud." This lead to comparisons between Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365. |
